The Westin Hotel Melbourne is fairly new to the city and a wonderful addition it is too.

I love the look of this luxury hotel. It reminds me of Paris for some reason. I think it looks very French. I walk past it sometimes just so I can feel like I am in Paris again.

It might be because the facade of The Westin Hotel Melbourne looks a lot like the buildings in Paris. It has its straight front with rows of windows and a sloped top. I guess that is why it feels so French to me and I love anything French. (Photo by Mat Connolley.)

The Westin Tunnel Entrance

The entrance to the hotel is also very French and very grand. It reminds me of the tunnels you go through when travelling around Paris.

I love the grand arch and the feeling of space you get when you walk thought it. The lighting is delightful. I also love the cobblestone driveway.

Glancing in through the large glass doors at the entrance you can see the grand staircase that sweeps around like Ginger Rogers dress when she is being glided around the dance floor by Fred Astaire. Magical.

Chanel Boutique

Another beautiful part of The Westin Hotel Melbourne is the Chanel boutique with the lovely large windows. A great place to window shop.

Across the way is Miss Louise boutique which has all the top designer shoes. More shoes candy for the eye.

Further up Collins St you will find all the top international designers such as Ralph Lauren, Giorgio Armani, Bvlgari, Hermes, and Bally. This area is known as the Paris End of Collins Street.

To the right of the hotel, you will find the lavish Regent Theatre. I have seen many productions here and enjoyed all of them.

Directly across the street you will find the Athenaeum Theatre which mainly stages comedy shows.

Federation Square is just down the street and the arts district continues on just past it. All is within walking distance.

The hotel itself has 262 rooms which will appeal to those who like quiet luxury. Modern but simple elegance. Lovely light white rooms.

If you love spas like I do visit their Wellness Centre. Need a massage or a beauty treatment out of hours. Never fear there is an on call beauty therapist coming to your rescue.

Maybe you need to fit in your workouts around a crazy schedule. The gym is open 24hrs just for you.

This is just how service should be in a luxury hotel. How can you resist...
